Snap Blog #4: Don't compare yourself to others...

*Pau took a test and she got 89 points. She was so happy until she saw
her classmates paper who got 93, which was obviously higher than
her score. She felt defeated in a way. She became sad and she thought
to herself that she is a loser when she's really not.

This story may be common to you. Too often we compare ourselves to others when we really don't have to. Comparing yourself to others makes you feel like you're a person who is less valued or sometimes you'll become very complacent. When you get a mark higher than that of others, you feel so complacent that when the next test comes, you'd review less than how you reviewed before or when you get a lower mark, you'd feel very dumb or a not-smart-enough girl(or boy).

Always comparing yourself to others is a very bad habit. It doesn't matter if you get a lower mark than others, as long as you did your best, it would mean very much to God. What matters most is how God sees you as an individual and not how you are compared to others. I remembered when I attended "Survival Guide" some time ago. One of the coaches said that "A healthy self-image is seeing yourself as God sees you. No more and no less." So stop comparing yourself to others and start seeing yourself God sees you. Have a nice day.
